Welcome to Antifreeze Kills
This website was stared in November 2007 by John and Melanie Els.

After losing our best friend and dearest companion Barrie, a beautiful ginger cat to antifreeze poisoning we felt the need to inform as many people as possible. We stared by handing out pamphlets door to door in the area we lived to warn others about the dangers and symptoms of antifreeze poisoning. We have also notified the press and with help from the Animal Concern Advice Line (ACAL) and the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) the word has been spread even further.
We felt that just telling people was not enough, deliberate poisoning is not unheard of and until manufactures start to add Denatonium, usually available as denatonium benzoate (under trade names such as Bitrex or Aversion) this will continue. We all need to place pressure on the manufactures of antifreeze to add this additive. Another solution is to stop using Ethylene glycol and replace it with less toxic Propylene glycol, although finding this alternative in stores seems to be a problem.
Our Goals at this point are:
· To inform people about the dangers of Ethylene glycol.
· Ask people to sign the petition to Number 10.
